Nicolas Cage Cleared from Civil Lawsuit While Assault Case Against Son Continue

Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage has been officially removed from a civil lawsuit filed by his ex-girlfriend, Christina Fulton, who accused their son, Weston Cage, of assault. The lawsuit, which initially included the Academy Award-winning star, claimed Cage was negligent in preventing their son’s alleged violent behavior. However, legal proceedings have now confirmed that all claims against him have been dismissed, as reported by multiple US media outlets.

The lawsuit, filed in February, centered on allegations that Weston Cage, 34, attacked his mother in April 2024 in what she described as a “manic rage” without provocation. Fulton claimed the assault left her with a concussion, neck and throat injuries, dental and abdominal trauma, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Despite these serious allegations, the court has ruled that Nicolas Cage bears no responsibility for his son’s actions.

From the outset, Cage’s legal team dismissed the claims against him as baseless, labeling them “frivolous” and stating that he has no control over his adult son’s behavior. “Mr. Cage does not control Weston’s behavior in any manner and is not responsible for Weston’s alleged assault of his mother,” his attorneys asserted. The court’s decision to remove his name from the lawsuit aligns with this argument, confirming that the actor cannot be held liable for his son’s actions.

While Nicolas Cage has been cleared, the legal battle is far from over. Proceedings against Weston Cage are still moving forward. Fulton, 57, alleges that her son has a “long history of mental and psychological disorders” and past instances of “violent assault and battery.” She also claims that his father continued to enable such behavior by providing financial support.

Weston Cage was arrested in June 2023 and charged with two felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon. He has since pleaded not guilty to both charges. His attorney previously dismissed the lawsuit as part of an ongoing pattern of litigation from Fulton, describing it as “nothing short of a money grab and call for attention.”

This latest development removes Nicolas Cage from the legal spotlight, but the case against his son remains a serious and unfolding legal matter. As the proceedings continue, the allegations and defense arguments are expected to gain further public and legal scrutiny.
